Igor Shipilin

 

 
Igor Shipilin was born in the Crimea, in Sevastopol, on October 15, 1961. He is considered one of the leading contemporary Russian masters of landscape.

He studied at the children's art school in Sevastopol from 1973 to 1977. After graduating he worked as an artist-designer. Since 1989 he has participated in republican, regional and city exhibitions in Russia. From 1990 to 1991, he audited classes in book graphics at the Repin Institute, in A. Pakhomov's studio. Then from1993 to 1999 he studied at the Moscow University of Publishing in the art department.  Since 1998 he has regularly participated in large group exhibitions in Moscow at the Central House of Artists as well as a series of exhibitions in London. In 2010 he exhibited at The Sevastopol Museum of Art. 

He is a member of the Ukraine Artists' Union.
